Outstanding service and food quality. Scratch kitchen getting it done. We sat at the bar on a busy Friday night. Great service. The pork belly app was outstanding. The blackened red fish was the best I've had outside of New Orleans . The key lime pie was spot on. Five star effort

In Phoenix for a conference and took my family with me. Came here because I am a vegetarian and needed real veggies after 3 days of lettuce. The farm to table veggie platter was AMAZING! Great kids meal and my husband enjoyed the salmon. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant

My go to favorite salad is at Grassroots!! They are always super service people- friendly/fast.. I think chopped or tuna salad is my fav... just will have to go back this week and maybe order something new... all ingredients so fresh!! Yummy dressings

Our friends were in town and we were looking for a kid-friendly option for dinner in/around Scottsdale. We picked Grassroots Kitchen & Tap for our Saturday night dinner, around 5pm. It wasn't super busy when we arrived; we were seated right away on their outdoor patio, which was perfect for us. They do have heaters in that area as well, if you're worried about getting cold but if you plan ahead, they take reservations on their website. For our meals, we had selected the Southern Shrimp & Grits, Roots BBQ Brisket (subbed slaw, no baked beans), Waldorf Chicken Salad, and the Nordic Salmon / Salad combo. The kids got the chicken tenders meal. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food. I had gotten the shrimp & grits which was a good portion, I was able to eat most of it. The grits were clearly the star, very creamy and tasty with a little bite from the jalapeños. The kids meals were a good size as well, they came with fries & grapes and the treat was a coupon for a kids sized ice cream scoop next door. Service was efficient, our server came by periodically to check in on us and everything was brought out timely. This seems like a good spot for lunch but also had the casual date night restaurant vibe. We enjoyed it and would come back in the future!

I have to admit, I didn't expect to enjoy this place as much as I did, but it truly won me over! My husband, who grew up eating shrimp and grits, said this restaurant serves the best he's ever tasted. The shrimp are grilled to perfection, and the grits are thick and creamy--absolutely delicious! My salad was equally delightful, topped with fresh lemon juice and feta cheese. I would definitely return to this gem in Scottsdale. Hooray for Southern cooking!

Very nice service. The food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. My husband got the shrimp and grits. I had the poboy sandwich w dirty orzo as a fries substitution. Only complaint was the sandwich was very messy since there was so much sauce on it. I wish it had 1/4 of what sauce was on it.

Visiting Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. Coming back from the Grand Canyon, we decided to search for a place to dine in for dinner. Grassroots was one of a few restaurant options that popped up on our Google search. The good reviews and overall ratings were essentially our reason for picking this location and it sure did not disappoint. Rob was our waiter and from start to finish, he did swimmingly. He suggested an appetizer that was just right for my husband and I. Drinks were good. Sucks, they didn't have mojitos. However, my alternative cucumber drink was refreshing. The atmosphere was nice and not as loud as I thought it would be. There's outdoor seating. Although it was perfect weather for outdoor dining, We gladly dined inside. Overall, our experience was wonderful from the host to the staff that helped serve us our food and drinks.

We were searching for a restaurant nearby Talking Stick before attending a show recently. Our friend found Grassroots Kitchen & Tap which we thought was an absolutely wonderful spot with delicious food and the casual atmosphere we were hoping for. All of the servers and waitstaff were so friendly and helpful we wish all restaurants had this level of exceptional service! And my oh my the food was wonderfully flavorful and generously portioned without being overly portioned. We were a little early for our reservations so we spent just a few minutes at the bar but were seated within mere minutes of getting our drinks. All our questions were asked and answered without hesitation and our orders were taken promptly. Our dishes all came out fresh hot and timely. Everything was delicious and we shared a little with others so we could enjoy even more than what we ordered. Parking was perfect and easy but I could see it getting a little more difficult on a busy weekend and the prime dinner hours. We will have to return the next time we're in the area because everyone in our group walked away remarking about their memorable tasty meals. Go check them out but definitely remember to make a reservation to be sure you'll get a table at the time you need!

Came here on vacation. Food and service was great. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the weather and they had misters to cool off a little more.

Discovered this little gem on a recent trip to Scottsdale, and what a great find! Got there at 4:30, and they said they could seat us, but the table was reserved for 5:30, so we had to be done by then...seemed a little odd, but ok, fair enough. I said hey, you get the food out quick and we'll be fine. So, not the best start, but it was ok. The rest of the experience was awesome. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was very good, my wife had the grilled salmon, which was just outstanding, our friends enjoyed their meals also. The food was prompt, and we made it out at 5:35 without incident! JK It was a very nice place to enjoy a meal with friends.
